Precautions about eye surgery
- If you take any medicine which interrupt hemostasis (e.g. birth control pill, hormone drug, vitamin E, aspirin), avoid to take them for 2 weeks before your surgery.
If you are now under the hypertension, heart disease, diabetes and thyroid gland, let us know in advance. - Avoid cigarette for 3 days before your surgery. The stimulate component of cigarette might cause phlegm or sneeze.
It also might cause a bleeding problem after the surgery.
Also, if you have severe cold on surgery day, your airway or respiratory organs might not in a normal condition.
In this case, please let us know in advance. - On surgery day, we suggest to wash your body with mild soap.
Contact lens, jewelry, accessory, manicure and make-up might disturb the surgery.
Before you visit our clinic, please remove them in advance. - Please wear comfortable clothes as shirts or hoody, which won’t stimulate your surgery area.
And we suggest to prepare mask, scarfs, cap and sunglasses if you need. - After your surgery, you cannot drive.
It would be better to come with your guardian.
Post surgery instruction
- After your surgery, on first/second day, you might have a swelling and bruise.
But those will be reduced as time goes by. - When you take a sleep, avoid the position your head downward.
Also avoid to lie face down.
It is suggested to use stacked 2~3 soft pillows. So that it can hold over your head, and it’s helpful to reduce your swelling and pain. - Avoid crying with tears, or rubbing eyelid.
Also don’t close your eyes too tight. Eye make-up is available after 1 week from the surgery. - Your conjunctiva might have congestion. You might see some boogers.
Temporary feeling of declined vision is normal. You will be your normal condition soon. - Drinking alcohol and the cigarette interrupts your wound healing.
We suggest to avoid them, but if it is unavoidable, it’s available after 4 weeks after the surgery. - Avoid to wear contacts around 3 weeks after the surgery.
During this period, wear your glasses or sunglasses instead.
