A visible lump, a painful vein, underarm odor, and excess sweating may look like simple cosmetic concerns, but their causes and appropriate treatments are different. Dr. Francis Jeon reviews the medical history, symptoms, examination findings, and imaging when indicated before recommending treatment.

Varicose Vein Treatment
Assessment of visible or symptomatic leg veins, including duplex ultrasound when clinically indicated.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment
Excessive sweating is assessed by location, severity, triggers, health history, and the effect on daily life.

Osmidrosis Treatment
Persistent axillary odor related to apocrine glands may be treated surgically in appropriately selected patients.

Dimpleplasty
A small internal cheek procedure designed to create a dimple at a planned position while minimizing an external scar.

Accessory Axillary Breast
Fullness in the armpit may contain fat, glandular breast tissue, loose skin, or a combination of these components.

- Removed glandular tissue may be sent for pathology
Lipoma Excision
Selected soft, mobile subcutaneous masses can be evaluated and removed as outpatient procedures when their size and location are appropriate.

Clinic-Based Care Has Clear Boundaries
Evita Clinic provides outpatient treatment and does not provide inpatient hospitalization. A procedure is not offered simply because it appears minor: the likely diagnosis, depth, size, location, bleeding risk, anesthesia needs, and the patient’s health all matter.
Procedures may be separated rather than combined when the expected treatment time or recovery burden would be inappropriate. Urgent symptoms—such as sudden one-sided leg swelling, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe bleeding, or rapidly worsening infection—require prompt emergency assessment rather than online consultation.
If hospital-level care is needed:
The patient will be referred or transferred to an appropriate medical center. During the transfer process, Dr. Francis Jeon, a board-certified thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, can provide initial emergency care using emergency medications and equipment, including a defibrillator, if necessary. Since Evita Clinic opened in 2009, no such emergency transfer has been required. Nevertheless, our team is familiar with the appropriate emergency response and transfer protocols.
Questions About Other Procedures
Who performs these procedures?
Procedures are performed by Dr. Francis Jeon, a board-certified thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon and the founder of Evita Clinic. The treatment plan is confirmed after he evaluates the relevant anatomy and medical history.
Are all of these procedures cosmetic?
No. Varicose veins, excessive sweating, osmidrosis, accessory breast tissue, and a palpable mass may have medical as well as cosmetic implications. The first step is to identify the concern and determine whether clinic-based treatment is appropriate.
What anesthesia is used?
It depends on the procedure. A small injection or dimpleplasty may need only local anesthesia, while selected surgical procedures may use tumescent local anesthesia with monitored twilight sedation. The plan is confirmed before treatment.
Can I combine a minor procedure with another surgery?
Possibly, but not automatically. Dr. Jeon considers total operating time, treatment areas, positioning, anesthesia, wound care, and recovery burden. Separate dates are recommended when combining procedures would be inappropriate.
How long should an international patient stay in Korea?
The stay varies substantially by treatment. An injection or small local procedure may need only a short visit, while osmidrosis surgery, vascular treatment, or a larger excision may require additional follow-up. The coordinator confirms the minimum and recommended stay after the planned procedure is identified.
Do you perform sclerotherapy for facial or hand veins?
No. Evita Clinic’s sclerotherapy service is for suitable leg veins. Facial and hand veins require different risk assessment and treatment expertise and are not treated with sclerotherapy at our clinic.
Do you perform ETS or MiraDry for hyperhidrosis or osmidrosis?
No. Evita Clinic does not perform ETS sympathectomy or MiraDry. Hyperhidrosis treatment may include topical or oral options, iontophoresis, or botulinum toxin injections. Surgical gland reduction may be considered for selected axillary osmidrosis cases.
What should I send for an online assessment?
Send clear photographs of the treatment area when appropriate, along with your age, symptoms, duration, previous diagnosis or treatment, medical conditions, medications, allergies, smoking status, and preferred travel dates. For a lump, include its approximate size, location, growth pattern, tenderness, and any existing ultrasound report.
