Currency & Exchange Rate Information
For the convenience of international patients, Evita Clinic may provide price estimates in USD.
All surgical fees are primarily established and managed in Korean Won (KRW).
Foreign Currency Cash Payments
If you choose to pay in foreign currency cash (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.):
- The exchange rate applied will be the bank’s cash buying rate (KRW per respective currency) announced by a major Korean commercial bank on the date of payment.
- The applicable rate will correspond to the specific currency used for payment.
- Final payable amounts may vary depending on exchange rate fluctuations.
- The final amount is confirmed on the day of payment.
Credit Card Payments
- All card payments are processed in KRW.
- Exchange rates and overseas transaction fees are determined solely by your card issuer.
- Evita Clinic does not control or adjust card exchange rates.
- Some international credit or debit cards may have overseas transaction limits or daily spending limits.
- Patients are strongly advised to check their card limit and overseas usage authorization with their bank in advance to avoid payment issues on the day of surgery.
Failure to verify card limits may result in transaction delays or cancellation.

🧾 Taxes (VAT) Information
Under Korean tax law, medical services are generally exempt from Value Added Tax (VAT). However, certain aesthetic or non-essential procedures may be subject to VAT depending on current regulations.
Procedures Typically Subject to VAT
The following aesthetic procedures are generally subject to VAT under current Korean tax regulations:
- Liposuction
- Body lifting procedures
- Breast cosmetic surgery (augmentation, reduction, mastopexy)
Procedures Generally Exempt from VAT
The following medical procedures are generally exempt from VAT:
- Gynecomastia surgery
- Top surgery (FTM/MTF chest surgery)
- Varicose vein treatment
- IV therapy (medical infusion treatment)
- Medical prescriptions and consultations
- VAT applicability is determined based on the medical classification and purpose of the procedure in accordance with Korean tax law.
If VAT applies, it will be clearly itemized and explained prior to payment. All final charges are confirmed before billing.
