Upper Arm Liposuction in Seoul
A 360-degree approach to stubborn upper-arm fat, including the inner and outer upper arms and, when appropriate, the axillary and bra-line transition.

Is arm liposuction right for you?
The key question is whether the fullness comes mainly from removable subcutaneous fat or from loose skin.
✓ Usually a good candidate
You have pinchable upper-arm fat that remains despite a stable weight, and your skin has enough elasticity to adapt after fat removal.
! Needs careful assessment
You have both excess fat and moderate skin laxity. Liposuction may reduce volume, but some looseness may remain or become more noticeable.
! An arm lift may be better
You mainly have hanging skin after major weight loss or aging. Removing additional fat alone cannot tighten a substantial skin envelope.
What areas are treated?
Arm shape is three-dimensional. Dr. Jeon evaluates the entire upper arm rather than treating only one visible pocket.
- Inner upper arm
- Outer and posterior upper arm
- Transition near the elbow
- Axillary fat pad when indicated
- Upper bra-line transition when it affects continuity
A proportionate plan, not maximum removal
The goal is a balanced arm contour that fits the shoulder, axilla and torso. Over-aggressive suction can increase the risk of surface irregularity, tethering and poor skin adaptation. A thin, even layer of fat is therefore preserved where needed.
Forearm liposuction is not automatically included. The forearm has different anatomy and is assessed separately.
How upper arm liposuction is performed
1. Personalized markings
Dr. Francis Jeon examines the arm in standing and raised positions, then marks the fat distribution and transitions that need contouring.
2. Tumescent anesthesia
Tumescent local anesthesia is combined with monitored twilight sedation. Small access incisions are generally placed near the armpit and elbow crease.
3. Controlled liposuction
Fat is removed gradually from multiple directions to refine the circumference while protecting contour smoothness and skin viability.
All procedures are performed by Dr. Jeon. Evita Clinic schedules one surgical patient per day for individualized care.

Arm liposuction vs. arm lift
Liposuction reduces fat. Brachioplasty removes loose skin. Some patients benefit from both, but they solve different problems.
| Concern | Arm liposuction | Arm lift (brachioplasty) |
|---|---|---|
| Main target | Localized subcutaneous fat | Loose or hanging skin |
| Incisions | Small access incisions, usually under 5 mm | Length varies from the armpit to a longer inner-arm scar |
| Skin removal | No | Yes |
| Best skin quality | Reasonably firm and elastic | Moderate to severe laxity |
| Important limitation | Cannot remove excess skin | A visible scar is unavoidable |

What is recovery like after arm liposuction?
Most patients can walk and perform light daily activities from the next day, but swelling, bruising, firmness and temporary asymmetry are normal during healing.
What arm liposuction can achieve
- A slimmer upper-arm circumference
- A smoother transition from the shoulder to the elbow
- Better balance between the arms and torso
- Long-lasting fat-cell reduction when body weight remains stable
Liposuction is body contouring, not a weight-loss procedure. Results vary with anatomy, skin elasticity, healing and later weight change.
Possible risks and limitations
- Swelling, bruising, pain or temporary numbness
- Seroma, bleeding or infection
- Contour irregularity or asymmetry
- Firmness, fibrosis or skin tethering during healing
- Visible access scars or pigment change
- Persistent or increased skin laxity
- Need for revision or later skin excision
Upper arm liposuction questions
Will arm liposuction tighten loose skin?
It may allow mildly elastic skin to contract as swelling settles, but it does not remove skin. Significant hanging skin usually requires brachioplasty, and liposuction alone can sometimes make existing laxity more visible.
Does the ₩2,750,000 fee include the armpit and bra-line area?
The fee is for bilateral 360° upper arm liposuction. The axillary fat pad and nearby bra-line transition are treated when they are anatomically relevant to the arm contour. The exact range is confirmed during consultation.
Where are the incisions?
Small access incisions, generally under 5 mm, are usually placed near the armpit and elbow crease. Their exact number and position depend on the planned treatment range.
What anesthesia is used?
Evita Clinic uses tumescent local anesthesia with monitored twilight sedation rather than general anesthesia. Vital signs are continuously monitored throughout the procedure and recovery.
How long should I stay in Korea?
A minimum stay of 3 days is recommended. When possible, 5–7 days allows more time for postoperative assessment and dressing care before travel.
How long should I wear compression?
Compression is generally recommended for at least 8 weeks. The daily wearing schedule may be modified according to swelling, healing and garment fit.
When can I exercise again?
Walking and gentle daily activity are encouraged early. Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous upper-body exercise for at least 2 weeks, then increase activity according to healing and Dr. Jeon’s instructions.
Can arm liposuction and arm lift be done together?
They may be combined when both fat and loose skin need correction. However, the surgical plan depends on skin quality, scar preference, treatment extent and safe operating time.
Arm contouring by Dr. Francis Jeon
Dr. Francis Jeon is a board-certified thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon and the founder of Evita Clinic in Seoul. Since establishing the clinic in 2009, he has focused on gynecomastia, breast surgery and body contouring for Korean and international patients.
Each plan is based on fat distribution, skin elasticity, shoulder-to-arm proportion and the patient’s tolerance for scars—not on fat volume alone.
