Before surgery for gynecomastia, we have collected the three most commonly asked questions.

Q. Armpit incisions are more likely to leave scars after surgery  than areola incisions. Is it hard to see and less uncomfortable?

A. Yes. you’re right. The scar is clearly visible from the armpit incision.

However, from the viewpoint that the purpose of gynecomastia surgery is to remove the mammary gland. Areola incision is performed at Evita Clinic. This is because the mammary gland is connected to a structure called the nipple-areola complex that connects the gland to the nipple, and if this part is not precisely removed, the nipple may protrude after surgery. In the case of underarm incision, it can be disadvantageous in removing the mammary gland and nipple-areola complex.

Q. I am going to undergo gynecomastia surgery. Do you have any tips for getting the surgery done well?

A. For gynecomastia surgery, sleep anesthesia is usually performed.
Even under sedation, you must fast for at least 6 hours, including water.

It is good to do shaving of the chest area 2-3 days before surgery, and it is usually good to take a shower the day before surgery, and it is good to maintain good condition with sufficient sleep.
Smoking is strictly prohibited.

Q. Is there an appropriate time for gynecomastia surgery?

A. As gynecomastia progresses, the skin sags, making the surgery process more difficult and making it difficult to look pretty after surgery.

Therefore, it is better to perform surgery as young as possible, and in Korea, it is usually performed between the ages of 18 and 24.

There is no big difference between the seasons.
Summer is good for blood circulation after surgery, but it can be uncomfortable because of the compression garment,
so I tend to avoid hot summer.
