Aftercare is as important as having the surgery itself.  Without proper care, your chest could look uneven and may even cause your skin to fold. To help you achieve satisfactory results, you should wear a compression garment.

After the surgery, it is normal for swelling to occur. The compression vest helps a lot with the swelling.

You may check the photo on the side to give you an idea of how it looks like. It is light but tight.

Before, when the compression garment is not yet available, we use to apply a bandage on the chest. The bandages are good but this does not give enough compression. Furthermore, the bandages should be changed daily making it very inconvenient for patients. With that said, Compression vest is not only helpful for your recovery but also very convenient for everyday use.

You simply need to wash it by hand and dry. You can use a hairdryer to dry it faster.

The garment should be worn 24 hours for 2 weeks and 12 hours for another 2 weeks.
