This National High Five Day, the International Hyperhidrosis Society wants to remind you that there are great treatments for excessive sweating and that simple acts like high fives, handshakes, and hugs don’t need to be nightmares anymore. A lot has happened since the International Hyperhidrosis Society opened its doors more than a decade ago:

• Improved antiperspirant formulations
• Advances in BotulinumtoxinA  injection techniques
• mira*Dry introduced in 2013
• Lasers taking on new targets as sweat-busters
• Treatments being combined effectively in new ways
• Vastly increased excessive sweating awareness
• New treatments in research and development right now!

In fact, so much has changed in the management and understanding of excessive sweating, that the International Hyperhidrosis Society recently overhauled its educational brochure to ensure it includes updated and expanded information on all the latest treatment options.

The emotional stress caused by excessive sweating, remarks Raymond, “is especially severe among teenagers who are perhaps not as well equipped to deal with it and who are so susceptible to peer pressure and bullying.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. High fives to Raymond for his sincere dedication to the hyperhidrosis community. He, and other folks who support the IHHS, are refreshing examples of doing well by doing good.
