Tummy Liposuction in Seoul
360° abdominal liposuction for localized fat across the upper and lower abdomen, waist, flanks, love handles and back—planned as one continuous torso contour.

Is tummy liposuction right for you?
The most important distinction is whether abdominal fullness comes mainly from subcutaneous fat, loose skin, the abdominal wall, visceral fat—or a combination.
✓ Usually a good candidate
You have pinchable abdominal and waist fat despite a stable weight, reasonably elastic skin and realistic expectations about contour improvement rather than weight loss.
! Needs careful assessment
You have both fat and mild-to-moderate skin laxity. Reducing volume may improve shape, but loose skin can remain or become more visible.
! Another plan may be better
Your main concerns are hanging skin, rectus diastasis, a hernia, prominent visceral fat, expected pregnancy or major future weight change.
Why treat the abdomen, waist and back together?
The torso is a continuous three-dimensional curve. Treating only the most visible front pocket can leave an abrupt transition at the waist or back.
- Upper abdomen
- Lower abdomen
- Waist and flanks
- Love handles
- Lower back when required for continuity
Dr. Jeon’s contouring principle
Body contouring is not simply the removal of the maximum possible volume. Dr. Jeon evaluates how the abdomen connects to the flanks and back, then preserves an even layer of fat where needed to maintain a smooth, natural curve.
Very limited one-area liposuction is generally reserved for selected touch-ups or revision cases. The exact treatment range is confirmed after examination.
How tummy liposuction is performed
1. Standing assessment and design
Dr. Francis Jeon evaluates fat distribution, skin elasticity, scars and the relationship between the front abdomen, waist, flanks and back before marking the treatment zones.
2. Tumescent anesthesia
Tumescent local anesthesia is combined with monitored twilight sedation. Small access incisions are placed discreetly according to the planned range.
3. Layered 360° contouring
Nutational infrasonic liposculpture and manual techniques are used as appropriate. Fat is removed gradually from multiple directions to create balanced transitions rather than an over-thinned surface.
All surgery is performed by Dr. Jeon. Evita Clinic schedules one surgical patient per day for individualized care.

Tummy liposuction vs. tummy tuck
Liposuction removes localized subcutaneous fat. A tummy tuck removes excess skin and may repair abdominal-wall laxity. Lipoabdominoplasty combines both when clinically appropriate.
| Question | Tummy liposuction | Tummy tuck / lipoabdominoplasty |
|---|---|---|
| Main target | Localized subcutaneous fat | Loose skin, with fat and/or muscle laxity as indicated |
| Skin removal | No | Yes |
| Muscle repair | No | May be performed when diastasis or fascial laxity is present |
| Incisions | Several small access incisions | A longer lower-abdominal scar; extent depends on the operation |
| Typical candidate | Localized fat with adequate skin elasticity | Loose skin after pregnancy or major weight change |

What is recovery like after tummy liposuction?
Most patients can walk and perform light daily activities from the next day. Swelling, bruising, drainage, firmness and temporary unevenness are expected during early healing.
What tummy liposuction can—and cannot—change
- Reduce localized fat across the abdomen and waist
- Improve the transition between the abdomen, flanks and back
- Create a more proportionate torso contour
- Provide long-lasting fat-cell reduction when weight remains stable
Liposuction does not treat visceral fat inside the abdominal cavity, create major weight loss, remove stretch marks outside excised skin, or prevent future weight-related contour changes.
Possible risks and limitations
- Swelling, bruising, pain or temporary numbness
- Bleeding, seroma or infection
- Contour irregularity, asymmetry or skin tethering
- Firmness or fibrosis during healing
- Visible access scars or pigment change
- Persistent or more noticeable skin laxity
- Skin injury, delayed healing or anesthesia-related complications
- Blood clots and the possible need for revision
Tummy liposuction questions
Is tummy liposuction a weight-loss procedure?
No. It is a body-contouring procedure for localized subcutaneous fat. It does not remove visceral fat or replace healthy weight management.
What does 360° tummy liposuction include?
It generally includes the upper and lower abdomen, waist, flanks, love handles and back as needed to create a continuous torso contour. The exact range depends on your anatomy and is confirmed after examination.
Will tummy liposuction tighten loose skin?
Mildly elastic skin may contract as swelling settles, but liposuction does not remove skin. If significant loose or hanging skin is present, a tummy tuck or lipoabdominoplasty may be more appropriate.
Can liposuction repair rectus diastasis?
No. Liposuction removes subcutaneous fat but does not tighten separated abdominal muscles. Muscle repair may be considered as part of a tummy tuck when clinically indicated.
What anesthesia is used?
Evita Clinic uses tumescent local anesthesia with monitored twilight sedation rather than general anesthesia. Vital signs are continuously monitored throughout surgery and recovery.
How long should I stay in Korea?
The current minimum stay is 5 days, and the recommended stay is 7 days for postoperative assessment and care before travel.
How long should I wear a compression garment?
Compression is generally recommended for at least 8 weeks. The daily wearing schedule may be modified according to swelling, healing and garment fit.
When can I return to work and exercise?
Many patients resume light daily activities within several days, depending on their work and recovery. Walking is encouraged early, but strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should generally be avoided for at least 2 weeks and resumed according to Dr. Jeon’s instructions.
Are the removed fat cells permanent?
Removed fat cells do not grow back, but remaining fat cells can enlarge with weight gain. Stable weight helps preserve the result, while pregnancy or major weight change can alter the contour.
When will I see the final result?
Early changes become visible as swelling decreases, but firmness and residual swelling can persist for months. The contour is usually assessed more reliably around 3–6 months.
