Some international residents in Korea may be enrolled in the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), depending on their visa, employment, and length of residence.
Insurance coverage depends on both the patient’s current NHIS eligibility and whether the specific consultation, test, or procedure is covered. Cosmetic and elective procedures are generally not covered, while some medically necessary services may be eligible.
